2018 SOCON Review: Led by two champs, Appalachian State won the team title with 110 points, while Chattanooga claimed second with 88 points.
Returning Champs: 125-Alonzo Allen (Chatt.), 141-Irven Enriquez (ASU), 157-Tyler Marinelli (GW). Campbell’s Jere Heino, who won the heavyweight title, is redshirting this year.
History: Chattanooga has won 29 all-time titles, including nine straight (1986-94) and most recently in 2015. Other current schools to win SoCon team titles were Appalachian State (eight, including 2018), Campbell (1, 2017), The Citadel (two, 1967 and 2004) and VMI (nine, including the first tournament in 1930 and most recently in 1997). Other former SoCon schools to win team titles were East Carolina (5), Maryland (2), North Carolina (2), UNC-Greensboro (2), Virginia Tech (7), Washington & Lee (7), West Virginia (5) and William & Mary (5).
