Div. II Notes from Friday
- McKendree reached Saturday’s semifinals with a 21-18 victory over Upper Iowa by winning six bouts, including bonus-point victories by Ronan Schuelke (141) and Cory Peterson (165). The Peacocks of Upper Iowa made the final close when Joshua Gaye scored a fall in the heavyweight bout. It was Upper Iowa’s second fall with the first coming by Treyton Ackman at 125 pounds.
- Central Oklahoma, the defending champions and No. 2 seed in 2025, also reached the semis with a 20-15 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside. Each team won five bouts with the Bronchos getting bonus-point victories by Stud Morris (125), Gabe Johnson (157) and Zane Coleman, who scored a fall at 174 pounds.
- Four of Tiffin’s five victories in the first round against Maryville were bonus-point wins, including a fall by Casey Barnett (157).
- McKendree led 18-9 after six matches – on the strength of a pin by James Hoskinson (157) and technical fall by Joey Semerad (149) — then clinched the first-round dual when Logan Kvien scored a technical fall at 197 to give the Illinois school a 23-16 lead.
