At this point of the high school wrestling season, most states are starting their postseason tournament or it’s soon to happen. Sometimes that means high-profile match-ups take place between nationally-ranked wrestlers like Isaiah Cortez of Gilroy High School and Nikade Zinkin of Clovis High, who appear on the latest cover of WIN Magazine prior to the California state tournament.

The latest issue of WIN is being printed and will mail on Feb. 15 and WIN Magazine wants to help wrestlers, coaches and fans get ready for this exciting time of year with its annual High School Postseason Issue, which is already available in digital form. Click here or call 888-305-0606 to subscribe to WIN Magazine.

In this issue, you will find WIN’s national high school rankings … as well as a feature showing who the front-runners are to win this year’s Junior Dan Hodge Trophy, presented by Resilite, a story comparing single-class vs. multi-class state tournaments … and so much more.

Also check out the six notebooks from the USA Wrestling state associations covering wrestling news from Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota, Florida and Washington … as well as a feature on Ken Chertow’s camps and the RMN Events Outwest Update on New Mexico’s young Nico Valencia.

At the same time, college wrestling is just a few weeks away from the start of the postseason and WIN provides previews of the NCAA Division I national-qualifying conference tournaments, a feature on No. 1 Penn State’s “newcomers” as well as updated team and individual rankings and statistics in the ASICS Race for the Hodge Trophy Update.

Meanwhile, WIN provides plenty of insight on some of the most important topics in wrestling like:

  • Dan Gable talks about how young wrestlers can avoid burnout;
  • Former Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby warns that the NCAA’s inability to regulate parts of college sports like the N.I.L. could indirectly end up jeopardizing Olympic sports like wrestling;
  • High school wrestling coach John Klessinger offers advice on how to take on postseason challenges;
  • High school columnist Rob Sherrill provides insight into national rankings, and analyzes how sometimes at weights like this year’s heavyweight class, most the top guys have wrestled a lot of the other talented big men at national-level events;
  • Former college wrestler Tristan Warner lists nine checklist items that will help high school wrestlers do the “little things” to be successful;
  • Guest columnist Dan Harding points out coaching young wrestlers benefits both the youth and the coach.

Make sure you get the latest issue of WIN Magazine to keep up on all the latest news!
