January issue of WIN Magazine is now available
It is definitely the “dual” part of the season for wrestling this time of the year and the NWCA Multi-Division National Duals in Cedar Falls the first weekend of 2024 kicked things off in style as Central Oklahoma (Div. II), Wartburg (Div. III), Life U. (NAIA men and women), Iowa (women) and Bellarmine (NCWA) left the UNI-Dome with championships.

Page 7 – IKWF-ILLINOIS/USA WRESTLING NOTEBOOK – It was a big two days for the North Central women as they dominated the women’s field at the 59th annual Midlands while the Don Flavin tournament brought out some of Illinois’ best preps over the holidays.
Page 8 – IOWA USA WRESTLING NOTEBOOK – Mark Rial continues to share his love for Greco-Roman wrestling that allowed him to excel over 15 years ago, while the Moyer Elite young wrestlers won the state’s dual championship for club teams.
Page 10 – KANSAS USA WRESTLING NOTEBOOK – There were 36 boys and girls wrestlers who captured the state’s Triple Crown honors this past year as they won championships in folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman.
Page 11 – FLORIDA NOTEBOOK – The Florida Phoenix women’s wrestling club in Tampa, and led by Daisy Santos are spotlighted this month as well as young wrestlers Abby DiCenzo, Erin Rizzuto and Callie Alfieri.
Page 12 – ISU WRESTLERS STEP IN AS GOOD SAMARITANS – On a West-Coast trip wrestling Cal Baptist and Arizona State, members of Cyclones team were able to help find a lost one-year-old boy who went missing in the team’s hotel.
Page 22 – HAWKEYES WIN SOLDIER SALUTE – Emotions flared up in the two finals involving the Ferrari brothers and Iowa wrestlers Caleb Rathjen and Zach Glazier. Iowa coaches also got a better look at possible team starters heading into the second semester.
Page 23 – WISCONSIN’S LIEGEL SHINED AT MIDLANDS – Competing in NCAA Division I after spending the past three years winning three Division III All-American honors, including a title, at Loras, this Badger won one of the ten individual titles at the prestigious holiday event.
Page 24 – ANDERSON BECAME A BELIEVER AT SCUFFLE – This Gardner-Webb wrestler did not think he was good enough to compete at the Division I level, but has now become the North Carolina school’s first ever champ at this January event in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Page 25 – NCWA MULTI-DIVISION NATIONAL DUALS – The championship exploits of Central Oklahoma (Div. II), Wartburg (Div. III), Iowa women (NCAA), Bellarmine (NCWA) and both the Life University men’s and women’s teams (NAIA) are featured over six pages.
Page 31 – SISTERS FOR ALL – The McBryde sisters of Buffalo, N.Y., and their Life U. coaches did not let Islamic religious restrictions prevent them from excelling and sharing their love for wrestling at this school outside Atlanta, Ga.
Page 38 – UNITED IN SPIRIT – Ulster may be a small rural community in the state of Pennsylvania, but Dave Patrick and many other coaches from the area are creating opportunities for young wrestlers at the United Training Facility.
