2018 MAC Review: Seven Missouri wrestlers won championships to lead the Tigers to a seventh-straight team title and set a MAC scoring record with 177 points to finish ahead of Central Michigan (125).
Returning Champs: 125-Michael McGee (ODU), 133 – John Erneste (Mo.), 141-Jaydin Eierman (Mo.), 165-Connor Flynn (Mo.), 174-Daniel Lewis (Mo.), Hwt-Matt Stencel (CMU). Two MAC champs from 2018 are wrestling elsewhere in 2019: 184-Kayne MacCallum of Eastern Michigan (which dropped its program last April) is now wrestling at Oklahoma, while Willie Miklus (197) of Missouri competes at Iowa State.
History: Central Michigan has won the most titles (16, including 11 straight between 2002-12), followed by Ohio (15, the last in 2001), Kent State (10, 1990), Missouri (7, 2018) and Northern Illinois (1, 1985). Former MAC schools to win team championships were Miami-Ohio (8), Toledo (7), Bowling Green (3) and Eastern Michigan (1996).
