Wrestlers invited to compete in first Junior Midlands
On Dec. 29-30, the prestigious Midlands wrestling tournament will be held for an historic 60th time at NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
But one day earlier, another historic moment will take place when the first-ever SCN Junior Midlands will take place at NOW Arena on Dec. 28 … and boys and girls of all ages are invited to compete in this event, which is an Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation tournament.
The following is a breakdown of each age division and format for that age group. All girls divisions will be divided by weight and age where possible:
- 6U-Tot (four wrestler round robin);
- 8U-Bantam (four wrestler round robin);
- 10U-Intermediate (eight wrestler bracket);
- 12U-Novice (eight wrestler bracket);
- 14U-Senior (eight wrestler bracket).
The cost to register is $60 per wrestler, and competitors can register on Trackwrestling or by clicking here. Doors will open at 6:45 a.m., with competition starting at 8 a.m. Awards will be presented.
Regarding weigh-ins, each club director will get a Trackwrestling weigh-in link. Club directors are asked to verify wrestlers’ names and divisions and add their actual weight. Directors must hold their own weigh-ins on Dec. 27 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
All wrestlers must have a valid USA Wrestling card.
