Jan. 11 Dan Hodge Trophy Race Watch List

The following is a list of undefeated NCAA Division I wrestlers who fit the top “mat” criteria — especially wrestlers with pins through Dec. 9 — for a wrestler to capture the 2013 trophy, which will be awarded this March. The current list is broken down into three categories: Front-Runners, previous NCAA champs and finalists who have wrestled this year; other previous All-Americans who are undefeated; and undefeated wrestlers with at least ten decisions thus far in the season.

The list will be updated on a weekly basis with the winner of this year’s Hodge Trophy selected after the NCAA Division I Championships. The award is presented annually by WIN Magazine and Culture House to the nation’s top college wrestler. It is named after the former Oklahoma University wrestler, who won three national championships (1955-57), pinned 36 of 46 victims and did not allow a takedown in his career. Other criteria include a wrestler’s dominance on the mat, past credentials, quality of competition, sportsmanship/citizenship and heart.
