NEWTON, Iowa — The 2012-13 college wrestling season officially begins this weekend and highlighted by the NWCA All-Star Classic in Washington, D.C., where 2012 NCAA champions David Taylor of Penn State and Kyle Dake of Cornell meet in the 165-pound bout.
As the season kicks off, check out WIN’s updated preseason Tournament Power Index, which is primarily based on the number of NCAA tournament points wrestlers can earn, based on WIN’s updated individual rankings.
Penn State, which has won the last two NCAA team championships, leads WIN’s TPI and WIN Top-20 Dual Team Rankings.
